The Access and Safeguarding Team cover the whole of the Middlesbrough area. The service is very keen to promote flexible working for all staff. This includes agile working at home as well as other Middlesbrough Council bases.
The Access Team works with adults over 18 who have a range of short term and long term needs for example physical or mental health needs, substance use, domestic abuse and homelessness. As part of the initial assessment process we are committed to promoting independence, offering information, advice and guidance and providing short term interventions such as reablement, where possible.

We are looking for a motivated individual who is adaptable change and who can support the Team Manager to ensure that the team delivers an effective social work service, which meets the needs of adults and their carers, whilst maintaining standards against our policies and procedures.
The Principal Practitioner will be responsible for:
Undertaking supervision and appraisal meetings.
Supporting the day-to-day running of the team: offering advice and guidance and supporting with case allocations, support plan approvals and case closures.
Ensuring that the team meet performance and recording standards.
Deputising in the absence of the Team Manager.
Managing a small caseload of complex cases.
