Salary: £22,183 - £23,541 plus additional allowances of up to £5000 per annum will be paid for sleep in's (at the rate of £81 per sleep in's) the following enhancements to pay may also apply to this role: time and a third for hours worked after 10pm, time and a half for Sunday working and double time for bank holidays.

We are seeking to recruit skilled and experienced people to work within our Children’s Homes. The homes provide care for a small number of children and young people and are situated in the Middlesbrough area.We are committed to Restorative Practice when working with young people and their families.
The successful candidates will provide a high quality of care and support, which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social and cultural needs of the children and families for whom the home provides a service. This will include working with children with very challenging behaviour, complex emotional problems, mental health disorders and other additional/special needs.
Successful candidates will be based initially in a named home, but will be expected to work in any Middlesbrough Children’s Home or Centre as required and to work with children in the community or within their own homes. You will also take responsibility for additional tasks including providing support and supervision to other staff.
Working as a senior worker you will need to have relevant experience and a professional approach to carrying out all aspects of this managerial role.Applicants must:Have NVQ/QCF/ Diploma Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or equivalent.Be enthusiastic and motivated to support children and young people within the community and the residential setting.An understanding of child development and challenging behavior.A positive attitude and a restorative approach when working with young people.You will also be required to work unsocial hours, including weekends, school holidays, bank holidays, sleep-in’s, waking nights, early mornings and evenings.
