The Special Educational Needs and Vulnerable Learners Service requires a special educational needs (SEN) administrative officer to support the service in the full range of duties associated with the Council's statutory provision for children and young people with SEN.
In particular, the team has launched a "Single Point of Contact" process which will offer parents, educational settings and professionals a convenient way to navigate systems and processes through which they can raise queries about a range of issues relating to SEND and receive advice on appropriate routes which can be taken to address any concerns or queries. The post holder will assist the team in dealing with a range of incoming telephone calls and emails received by the team under the "Single Point of Contact" process. This will include matters relating to children and young people with Education Health and Care Plans and those with SEN Support Plans. The post holder will also assist with monitoring, managing and processing financial information.
We are looking for individuals with a flexible 'can do' approach and who are capable of working in a busy office environment, demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, good numeracy skills and make effective use of ICT and other specialist equipment/resources as required.
