An exciting opportunity has arisen to help support the work of local authority led North East Migration Partnership. The Partnership is part of a national network that has been in existence for over 15 years working with a range of partners to help the integration and partnership working with LAs and agencies who work with refugees and asylum seekers.
The Partnership brings together representatives from the Home Office, Department of Communities and Local Government and Local Authorities alongside other statutory agencies such as the Police and Health, as well as voluntary and private sector organisations who deliver asylum and refugee services.
As a key member of a small strategic team, your role will be to assist in developing and servicing vital communications, helping with key initiatives, improving and developing information flows and sharing good practice within the Partnership from national, regional and local sources.
You will assist and support the management and delivery of key projects with the team and its partners helping to improve partnership working and collaboration. You will play a vital role in servicing and coordination of partnership governance structures and support to Project Officers on a wide and varied work programme for the region. This includes for example, improving migration/refugee data and information, providing responses to policy changes and improving processes for the range of asylum and refugee resettlement schemes that the Partnership coordinates for Central Government, organising meetings, taking note of actions and following up performance.
A good communicator with effective back office and organisational skills you will be confident in dealing with a range of customers and partners and adaptable in what is a changeable working environment. You will need to be a self-starter and be able to manage competing priorities and deliver effectively.
Working for Middlesbrough Council, as the host organisation, you will benefit from working flexibly with a blended working from home / central town office base. Working agile, with a focus on outcomes you will need to work on your own initiative to support the North East Migration Partnership’s Manager, Officers and Lead Member / Councillor.
