Please note the Cleveland Unit Child Development Centre is now part of the Middlesbrough Early Years Specialist Support Service.
We are obviously biased but we think the Cleveland Unit & EYSS service is a fantastic place to work and this is a great opportunity to join our fabulous team!
We are looking for experienced early years & SEN/D practitioners who wish to help others to develop their knowledge, skills and practice in the care and teaching of young children with special educational needs and disabilities.
The post will include working within the Cleveland Unit Child Development Centre but mostly consists of supporting staff in mainstream settings across Middlesbrough.
The role involves regular travel between various early years' settings so you will need to have independent transport (mileage costs are paid).
The successful candidates will need to demonstrate:
Excellent understanding of child development, the EYFS, SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation;
Proven knowledge and experience of supporting children with SEND;
The ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and the confidence to advise and coach others to overcome barriers to successful inclusion;
Flexibility, positive energy & resilience;
A commitment to working with children with special educational needs/disabilities and a desire to support them, their families and those who work with them.
This is a new post as we are extending our Outreach Team due to the success of the service. We are able to offer excellent training and support to the right applicants.
