We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team of Environmental Enforcement officers. You will work alongside the team of Environmental Officers and deal with issues including fly tipping, littering, stray dogs, dog fouling and abandoned vehicles.
Duties include issuing Fixed Penalty Notices and Community Protection notices to offenders in contravention of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 and Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
The successful candidate will:
Enjoy working in the outdoors and in all weather conditions
Have previous experience in a customer service role and handling difficult situations
Work independently and as part of a team when required
Have excellent literacy skills to enable report writing
To patrol as necessary, apprehend stray dogs and return them to their owners where known and where not known, place them in appropriate accommodation/pounds as required by legislation.
To carry out surveillance and to interview suspects using PACE and to issue legal notices where appropriate andas directed.
Have a full driving licence
Previous enforcement experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
