As from 1st April 2019, the Missing from Home, Return Home Service became part of the local authority.
This service aims to plan and engage children and young people in a Return Home Interview following all episodes of Missing from Home or Care.
Working within the Risk and Resilience Team, this secondment will cover the practitioner role and will also involve innovative engagement work with complex young people and their families in order to reduce the number of missing episodes and the risks faced by young people whilst missing.
The applicants should have experience of working directly with children and young people and in particular with teenagers.
The successful applicant will be expected to travel in order to conduct the return home interviews and in order to do so, there will be a requirement for some flexible working in order to engage children and young people outside of school e.g. some early morning and some early evening. This will be within the Council's flexible working times.
The approval of the applicant's manager to apply for this post is essential together with a commitment to release them between the secondment dates.
Applicant's must be clear to start in May subject to satisfactory clearance's including a DBS check.
