Middlesbrough Council are seeking to appoint a senior project worker. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nine bed supported accommodation service for 16-18 year old's.
The successful candidate will have a background working with vulnerable people in a housing or support related environment. Experience of working with young people in a Psychologically Informed way and delivering guidance and advice around Education, Employment and Training is desirable.
On a day to day basis this will include management overseeing all support provided to the young people and management of the staff team. You will also work to build and maintain partnerships with local agencies and community groups and actively involve young people in the running of the project.

Working as a senior project worker you will need to have relevant experience and a professional approach to carrying out all aspects of this managerial role.
Applicants must:
Have NVQ/Diploma Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or equivalent
Be enthusiastic and motivated to support young people and families
An understanding of child development and challenging behaviour
A positive attitude and a restorative approach when working with young people
Have experience of working with children and families
They will also need to be able to work unsocial hours i.e: early mornings, weekend's sleep-ins, night shift as well as school holidays, evenings and Bank holidays. Additional allowances will be paid for these hours.
