The Revenues and Benefits service provides vital services to the Council in the collection of Council Tax and Business Rates, and the assessment and payment of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction.
Middlesbrough Council are looking to recruit highly motivated individuals to our vacant Revenues and Benefits Advisor posts.
In line with the Council's values and as part of a busy and fast moving environment, you will be required to deal professionally, promptly and efficiently with Customer enquiries through all customer channels for all aspects of Revenues and Benefits services.
The successful candidates will ensure all work is dealt with to conclusion in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with all relevant statutory regulations, policies and procedures.
You will have a good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent, be able to build excellent relationships with a strong focus on team work, be well organised, and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Our staff are able to work alone, self-manage and work well as part of a bigger team. We are looking for approachable candidates with a 'can do' attitude, who are highly motivated with a flexible approach to working hours.
Whilst previous experience of working in a Revenues and Benefits service is not essential we would particularly welcome applicants with current experience and knowledge in this field of work. Full training will be given to the successful applicants.
The post is generic within our Revenues and Benefits service, and staff may be required to work across all aspects of our service.
