Teesside Archives has avacancy for an Archivist to join the team. This is a permanent full time role that would suit a newly or recently qualified archivist looking to develop their career that presents an opportunity to gain experience in a wide range ofarchival practice.
The service received accredited status in 2018 and is now looking to develop further, especially in the field of digital preservation. There are plans to find a new home for the service,presenting an opportunity to be involved in planning and preparing for a move.We are also working to expand access to our collections and to raise awarenessof the service to better engage with local communities and users further afield.
The area is famous forits industrial heritage, but is in close proximity to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and to the cities of Newcastle, Durham and York as well as to an attractive coastline. The area benefits from good transport links, affordable housing and is seeing a great deal of investment and has a vibrant cultural scene.
