The Pathways Team have an exciting opportunity for a full time Social Worker to join the team. This will role will be to support our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children. This is a new post that we are excited to offer. Middlesbrough are keen to develop their offer to this group of children. We would welcome applicants from those who are passionate, willing to learn and who will take a lead on developing new and exciting initiatives to support a seamless transition for these children to the Middlesbrough area. This role will ensure that each unaccompanied child will have an up to date assessment that will evidence their intrinsic needs and how they can be met, given their unaccompanied status. In addition to this there will be a smaller caseload where there will be an expectation to assess need for young people who are not unaccompanied. There will be an expectation that you support young people to prepare to leave care and the development of a pathway plan to meet those needs. Furthermore you will be expected to provide advice and guidance to young people who are eligible, relevant and former relevant under the Children Leaving Care Act 2000.
Newly appointed, experienced Social Workers will now receive £5,000 as a welcome offer to show gratitude for choosing to work in Middlesbrough. Social Workers are also entitled to apply for a Recruitment and Retention payment of 15% of your annual salary paid in a lump sum.
