An exciting opportunity has arisen within South Tees Youth Offending Service to recruit two Support Workers to our busy multi-disciplinary teams. In addition to being suitably experienced, you will be highly motivated and passionate about working with children and young people.
The successful candidates will be responsible for contributing to the reduction of youth crime through the engagement and support of young people subject to intervention by the Youth Offending Service. The Support Worker role involves engaging, challenging and supporting young people, their families and victims. You will be responsible for delivering planned interventions and packages of support, communicating effectively within YOS and partner agencies, accurately recording your work in a timely manner. An understanding of using restorative approaches when working with young people is important for success in this post.
To undertake the range of expected duties and responsibilities of the YOS the successful candidate would need to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, this includes evening/ weekend working and access to a vehicle is essential.
