The Ethnic Minority Achievement Team (EMAT) are seeking a part time and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Bilingual Support Worker for a fixed term period. This is a temporary post due to grant funding.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about improving outcomes for EAL children to the Middlesbrough Area to provide support to the Transitions Programme by providing bilingual support.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the Ethnic Minority Achievement Team (EMAT) in delivering support in accessing education, health and signposting to appropriate welfare agencies.
The role involves providing interpreting services to support welcome services for International New Arrivals, school admissions and community engagement support.
The Bilingual Support Worker (EMAT) priority areas will include:
Provide language support for the Ethnic Minority Achievement team through face to face or telephone interpreting with parents.
Assist parents with completing school admission and education support forms
Assist in supporting engagement with the Transitions Programme
To provide language support with school meetings.
