This is an exciting opportunity for two managers to work together to support the principal social worker in modelling and supporting great social work practice in Middlesbrough. The post holders will be supporting the training and development of Newly Qualified Social Workers and students in our Children's Services teams. You will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills in this post through supporting the management of the ASYE cohort and also to support Middlesbrough's improvement journey through skilling up our ASYEs. We have a proven track record of supporting and investing in our NQSW's at the start of their social work career and throughout their social work journey to enable them to progress their career goals within Middlesbrough. To do this we have invested in our workforce and have a number of learning and professional development initiatives and therefore require two managers to support with the implementation of this. The post holder will work within the Principal Social Worker's service area to continually develop the quality of practice across Children's services. You will be passionate about ensuring and sustaining a dynamic and creative workforce that continually seeks to ensure our children are safe and reach their full potential. Applicants must have:* DipSW or equivalent professional Social work qualification * Extensive relevant experience in children and families work * Practice teaching qualification and experience of supervising staff * An in-depth knowledge of the relevant legislation, research and best practice * Knowledge and experience in the delivery of reflective practice and supervision Middlebrough's ambition for its children and young people is high and we are investing in the transformation of children services through our 'Believe in families' programme.
