We are seeking a highly motivated, qualified and experienced individual with excellent management and project skills who can lead people, manage all aspects of service delivery and develop projects. Holding a valid full drivers licence is essential.
The role involves managing teams to provide Home to School and Adult Social Care Transport and other Travel Assistance for our town’s vulnerable children and adults.
Having relevant qualifications and / or experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Adult Social Care, local authority transport provision and directly managing a large service is desirable.
You will have responsibility to effectively manage and administer budgets, health and safety and other statutory compliance practices relating to the service, staffing, operations and vehicles.
You will be responsible for Health and Safety Procedures, Managing Risk and production of Risk Assessments across all areas of the service. Knowledge and experience in these areas will be essential.
As the supervising officer, your procurement and tender experience will support our suppliers and contractors for compliance with Corporate Procurement regulations. Management of relevant budgets will enable the team to offer value for money for services received from the private sector.
Your experience of customer excellence, being team oriented and results focused will link with our agency professionals to ensure that the Council’s Customer Charter, Corporate Values and other Corporate Standards are achieved.
You should have excellent leadership and communication skills, be confident, diplomatic and calm in sensitive situations. Being resilient and innovative when dealing with complex logistical issues or complaints will be an essential part of this role.
Being customer focused and confident to operate flexibly to deliver high standards of service and attain set performance targets in a busy service within the Council.
You must be a proficient IT user - word processing, spreadsheets, databases and email, with good problem solving and analytical skills to produce statistical reports or route planning.
