Enhanced payments will be paid for Sunday work, bank holidays. (Sleep-in duty is £81).
We are seeking to recruit skilled and experienced people to work within our Children’s Homes. The homes provide care for a small number of children and young people and are situated in the Middlesbrough area. We are committed to Restorative Practice when working with young people and their families.
The successful candidates will provide a high quality of care and support, which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social and cultural needs of the children and families for whom the home provides a service. This will include working with children with very challenging behaviour, complex emotional problems, mental health disorders and other additional/special needs.
Successful candidate will be based initially in a named home, but will be expected to work in any Middlesbrough Children’s Home or Centre as required and to work with children in the community or within their own homes.
You will be expected to support the Manager in developing the Home and achieving excellent professional standards which meet the needs of children and families. You will also take responsibility for additional tasks including providing support and supervision to other staff.
Applicants must:
QCF Level 5 in working with Children and Young People or Residential Care or NVQ or QCF 3 in working with Children and Young People or an equivalent qualification and a willingness to achieve the QCF 5 Residential Care Award.
At least 3 years’ experience of working with children
Experience of providing formal supervision to others
An understanding of child development and challenging behaviour
A positive attitude and restorative approach when working with children and young people
You will also be required to work unsocial hours, including weekends, bank holidays and nights.
A Full UK Driving License is essential.
