£24,920 - £26,446 plus minimum of £4,500 sleep-in allowance (81 pounds plus 9% a sleep), enhanced payments for night, Sunday and Bank Holiday working

Middlesbrough Council’s Future for Families service is driven by a real passion and focus on improving the lives of young people and children, who for many reasons need our support at the right time to help keep them being cared for inside their family unit. We strive to help families stay together, keep homes safe and most of all enable children have the future they deserve.
You will have the opportunity to widen your experience across our service which collaborates with a diverse range of partners, we are devoted towards families staying together, providing integrated support which extends to outreach, residential and foster care, speech, language and mental health support.
Providing quality trauma informed care and support, you will be working in a variety of settings including our children’s hub, family homes and in the community. You will use your skills to help to develop individualised care plans which meet the needs of the child.

You don’t need to have worked in the same setting, maybe you have worked within a relatable field and have developed an understanding of engaging with special needs or emotional difficulty which means you have excellent transferrable skills.
You will be involved in carrying out individually tailored and in-person packages of therapeutic work. There is also the opportunity to widen your experience across the service. You will supervise the contact between children, young people and members of their families as directed by the court or in line with care planning.
It is desired you have a professional qualification in psychology, counselling or in a therapeutic field, and we will need you to have, or work towards gaining an NVQ level 3 or a Diploma in a related field. The role is rewarding and challenging by its very nature and you will be surrounded by the nurturing support of peers and a Clinical Psychologist, you will be given every opportunity to develop your professional growth in leading practices.
