This post is a key function within the Community Learning Service part of Middlesbrough Council. The successful candidate will need to provide support to the Coordinator in the planning and delivery of teaching, learning and assessment within the Alternative Vocational Provision for students 14 - 19.
The successful applicant will:
Work with the Coordinator to assist in the planning and delivery of the Alternative Provision 14 - 19.
Assist with supervision and development of the specialist team and deputise for Coordinator as required.
Provide high quality teaching, learning and other key processes, including: IAG, learner support, health and safety, safeguarding and equality and diversity implementing improvements and staff development that results in improved outcomes for learners.
Assist the coordinator with embedding quality assurance across the specialist area including observations of key processes.
Lead on the development of Teaching, Learning and support roles within the provision (across the service).
Be experienced in the management of student behaviours within an Alternative Provision setting with the specific age group 14 - 19.
Maintain an up to date knowledge of awarding body/sector skills councils relevant to all areas with in curriculum delivery.
Work with a range of local partnership organisations including schools, parents, employers, community groups and other referral agencies, such as Stronger Families team, to ensure the service meets the requirement for recruitment and progression of potential learners.
Assist in the management and monitor a budget and funding streams, maximising existing contracts and sourcing income generation opportunities.
Respond to and where possible resolve complaints and health and safety issues.
Contribute to the service targets for attendance, retention, achievement and success and achieve KPIs of value and volumes.
