We are looking to recruit a full-time Independent Reviewing Officer within our Review and Development Unit to enhance the safeguarding expertise and increase its capacity to ensure our most vulnerable children receive the best possible service and outcomes. The successful candidates will ensure the provision of an effective reviewing system aimed at improving life chances for children.
The successful candidate will be responsible for chairing reviews for young people and children who are Looked After, including adoptive placements, they will also have a key role in monitoring the effectiveness and implementation of plans.
As an Independent Reviewing Officer you will also be required to assist with other daily functions of the Review and Development Unit which includes chairing child protection conferences in line with current Local Safeguarding Procedures. You will need to adhere to timescales, practice guidance and policies. The role requires you to undertake audits and provide a quality assurance role for social work practice.
The successful candidate will have:
Extensive relevant experience in childcare Professional qualification CQSW/DipSW/SCC/Degree in Social Work
The ability to work as part of a team to ensure the effective delivery of the service
A sound knowledge of Social and Child Care Legislation, Safeguarding and Inter- Agency policies and procedures and current development in children's services
