Middlesbrough Council's Children Service's is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual to:
To provide co-ordinated support, guidance and challenge to schools and partners to ensure that children and young people are effectively supported to remain safe.
To support schools in ensuring compliance with National requirements in safeguarding of children and young people.
To develop safeguarding knowledge, understanding and procedures to ensure that effective multi-agency working supports the sharing of best practice to keep children and young people safe.
The successful candidate will have a relevant professional qualification and experience, a sound knowledge of Children's Social work and a track record of improving performance. We are looking for a lead professional who can develop excellent relationships with school leaders and work effectively with all Middlesbrough schools to support their work in safeguarding.
The post sits within Middlesbrough Council Children's Services and line management is provided through children's care but the post is under the responsibility of the Director of Education.
Please note that there is also a part time position available with Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council. Candidates will be asked at Interview if they would like to be considered for this post.
