Department: Culture, Communities and Communications Service Area: Growth and Place Salary: GBP 21,589 - GBP 22,911 Hours: 37 hours per week Contractual Status: Fixed term for 12 months This post is a key function within the Community Learning Service. To assess,refer and provide mentoring/support to Routes to Work participants in order toassist them in overcoming barriers to work. Participants are deemed 'hard tohelp' due to factors such as long term unemployment, mental health issues,disabilities, complex/multiple barriers e.g. ex-offenders, substance misuse,etc. The successful applicant will be able to:Deliver timely and effective Information,Advice and Guidance to participants
Identifybarriers participants have to work and provide individual and mentoring supportto help participants overcome these barriers
Carry out skills needs assessments to identify transferable skills and develop realistic targets relevant to moving participants closer to employment
Monitor and review the progress of participants regularly, liaising withemployers/placements and other parties setting SMART targets
