The above post is situated within the Psychosis Team in Middlesbrough.
The job will include working with adults with psychotic illnesses including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Social Care is co-located within a busy NHS Psychosis Team. The social care role is focussed on providing assessment and support under the Care Act 2014.
The job will include holding a caseload of service users who require an assessment of their social care needs as well as implementing a support plan if needed and reviewing the care.
There is also an element of Mental Health Tribunal work, which will include preparing a report and attending the Tribunal.
There is a high level of Mental Health Act related work within the Team including Mental Health Act assessments and the involvement of AMHP’s in the application, revoking and extension of CTO’s.
An Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) payment is made on the basis that an employee participates in the AMHP rota. If an employee can only commit to a proportion of the rota, for instance they work part-time, the payment will be pro-rata’d to account for this. It is an expectation of the AMHP role that employees participate in the rota, however, there may on occasion be exceptional circumstances that will not allow an employee to participate. Those who do not participate will not receive the additional payment and continue to be paid at the appropriate level for the work being undertaken.
