We are seeking to recruit suitable people to work within our Children’s Home Holly Lodge. The home provides care for a small number of children and young people who, for a variety of reasons, cannot currently live with their families. They may have autism spectrum disorder or other Learning disabilities. The home is situated in the Middlesbrough area.
We are committed to Restorative Practice when working with young people and their families.
The successful candidates will provide a high quality of care and support, which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social and cultural needs of the children and families for whom the home provides a service. This will include working with children with very challenging behaviour, complex emotional problems, mental health disorders and other additional/special needs.
The successful candidates will be based initially in Holly Lodge Children’s Home but will be expected to be prepared to work in any Middlesbrough Children’s Home as needed, or to work with children who are living in the community or within their own homes.
Applicants must:
Have a recognised QCF level 3 diploma in Residential care in working with children and young people or an equivalent qualification or a willingness to undertake.
Experience of working with children and young people.
An understanding of child development and challenging behaviour.
A positive attitude and the ability to work with young people.
You will also be required to work unsocial hours - including week-ends, bank holidays and nights.
