A great opportunity is available for two enthusiastic, self-motivated and conscientious people to join our APSE national finalist Crematorium and Cemetery team. You will primarily be involved in burials and grounds maintenance of cemeteries, and will also be involved with supporting and providing high quality Bereavement, Crematorium and Funeral services to our customers and partners.
Working across all the cemeteries in Middlesbrough, responsibilities include grave digging with machinery and by hand, lowering of Coffins, exhumations and grave maintenance etc. Cemetery and minor maintenance are also key duties in maintaining our cemeteries to the highest of standards.
The successful candidate will:
Have the ability and confidence to liaise and sensitively communicate with members of the public, bereaved families, funeral directors
Enjoy working in the outdoors and in all weather conditions and be able to meet the physical demands of the post
Have previous experience in a customer facing role and handling sensitive and difficult situations
Work to the highest standards, independently and as part of a team
Have a flexible approach to working times including working on a weekend
Experience in working in Bereavement services and cemeteries is an advantage
A driving licence is essential and you will be expected to undertake training in all aspects of the service
